Anchoring ourselves

21 June, 2023
Lord this morning You have been highlighting faith, anchoring ourselves in You and depth to me.
I can’t believe I almost missed it, Lord, this beautiful plant, this glorious aloe, once tall and full of life and colour, vibrant and vivacious, now felled…
Wow, when my daughter got out the car, clearly she had not seen the aloe yesterday and full of sympathetic compassion ran over to the aloe and stroked it in empathy saying sorry aloe… noting it’s beauty now lost, life; once so giving, so deep in colour, adding so much meaning to our otherwise ordinary days… she was reminiscing the life that once was in and out of, and through the plant… while walking over to it, I said to her nonchalantly “too much water” she repeated in disbelief “too much” this caused me to have a rethink… too much water maybe…. but this aloe was made to grow, this aloe was meant to shoot upwards and be heavy, tall and full of life… so what actually made the aloe fall… water was the straw that broke the camels back… what actually caused the demise of the aloe and when you look closely at it you can see it clearly… the root system was unsustainable for the plant itself… the aloe never deepened it’s root system to anchor itself to it’s life force… the aloe could not however get up and choose a new place to plant himself if he found the ground here too hard and dry and not deep enough, where we can. By faith, we can, like Abraham ask God for His direction and say if You, Father God would like to take me somewhere where my faith will grow stronger, deeper and give me a better anchor in the Spirit, I will follow. Ask the Lord Ps 90:17 “establish the work of my hands Lord, establish the work of my hands.”
This morning I was listening to Uncle Angus and on his talk he spoke about and prayed about faith, for the Lord to increase our faith, for the Lord to establish our faith and for the Lord to anchor us in His faith.
While brushing my teeth it came to me… what did the Lord say… He said, when He comes back to earth will He find faith? That was His question to us… so what do you think will be our most tested element of Christianity in the end times… must be our faith… let’s pray, let’s pray now, let’s pray daily, let’s pray whenever we get the chance for ourselves, first and foremost…  “For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?” Mark 8:36 Then for our loved ones – picture them all standing in the room with you as your pray with and for them, then for the ministries we’re in, then for the world around us. Father, increase my love for Your Word, Father God anchor me to You, let nothing ever strip me away from You and the Truth of who You are no matter how deceptive this world gets. Father I pray for myself, my family and friends and everyone in my church and ministry especially the leaders that You would cause us to read Your word more, spend more time with You and that supernatural advantage we need to get through the day would be evident as a natural outpouring of the time we have filled up with and on You, thank You Jesus, in Jesus mighty name Amen
