Lord today I am reminded that everything needs to rest. You said, Lord, that it was good for You to rest, if it was good for You to rest, how much more us?
Lord, as I brought my children to camp this morning You showed me the gardens of the church, You said, look how beautiful the dew is on the grass, a thick wet blanket covering the grass, listen to the nothingness of the silence when no one is walking on the grass, where last night there was the hustle, the bustle, the sights and sounds of the potjie fires burning on the fields where children played soccer, parents mingled and chatted, now today silence covered by a blanket of dew as if to say You have put to bed or to rest what was and You are preparing us for what is to come, by resting, it is Holy and blessed to rest. How will we make it a part of our daily routine, our weekly service to You Lord to observe the Sabbath?
Show us, lead us, make us wise in Your ways. Your word says “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.”

We don’t want to ask like that Lord, we want to ask knowing You have answered our prayers, you heard our heart’s cry before we even needed what we asked for and You are ready and willing to give us more than we can ask or imagine (Eph 3:20) as long as we keep our hearts in line with You and Your word where You have said “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.”

You will take care of our needs as we put You first as our Pearl of great price.

We love You, help us grow in intimacy with You, help us grow into vulnerability with You where we trust and lean on You and allow You to gently lead us into changing into who You have created us to be. Thank You Lord!
